A cancellous screw is a special type of surgical screw used to fix bone fractures or bone fragments in the area of soft, spongy bone (cancellous bone). Compared to cortical screws, which are designed for denser cortical bone, the cancellous bone screw has a coarser thread with wider thread pitches, which allows for better anchoring in spongy bone.
Features and characteristics:
Coarse thread: The thread is coarse, with a larger distance between the thread pitches.
Anchoring in cancellous bone: The cancellous bone screw is specially designed to sit firmly in less dense bone material, such as that found in the metaphysical or epiphyseal region.
Sizes and materials: Cancellous bone screws are available in various lengths and diameters and are made of titanium or stainless steel.
We offer our cancellous bone screws in the following versions:
Stainless steel cancellous bone screw with diameters of 3.5 mm, 4.0 mm and 6.5 mm
