The canulated interference screw is a tried-and-tested implant for the secure and primary-stable fixation of tendon and ligament grafts in orthopaedic and trauma surgery. It is used in particular for ligament reconstructions, such as anterior and posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, as well as for other ligament reattachments. Thanks to its special design, the interference screw enables direct compression of the graft against the bone canal wall, thereby achieving high initial stability and creating the conditions for reliable osseointegration. The cannulated design allows the screw to be inserted via a guide wire, which facilitates precise positioning and safe handling in the surgical environment. This is particularly advantageous in minimally invasive and arthroscopic procedures.
